As I was walking home from Chipotle (it's within walking distance of my apartment. I am going to get so fat) I passed an adorable little waffle stand. It was closed, and as I went to go check the hours (cause I love me some waffles) I saw a hiring sign!!! The email address was covered up by a window, and I was too short to see all of it, so here I was on the corner of a street hopping up and down trying to figure out the email address. There were a bunch of cars waiting for the light to turn green, so I probably looked insane. BUT I GOT IT!
I wrote it down and ran back home and I've already emailed her about the position. It would be SO great if I got the job, it's literally right down the street from me. I really really hope I hear back. I also applied for a cookie baker position at a cookie delivery place not too far from me, but haven't gotten a response yet and it's been over a week. American Apparel is also hiring, but UGGGHH. I hate that store! And I would look so weird working there. There would be all of these trendy hipsters in their oversized, ill fitting, overpriced AA wear with those stupid little head band things that go on your forehead, and then lil chubby me hanging around in a sweater.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me get the waffle job! My life would just be TOO perfect!

We carried EVERYTHING up ourselves. It was terrible. The couch was the worst one. It suffered a few scraps and one rip, but I think it can be easily patched up. My kitchen table/chairs are all put together, as well as my bedframe. I put together a laptop table and ottoman all by myself :-D
My stupid gate key is NOT working, so I need to get that fixed ASAP so I can go out and get groceries and a shower curtain!
Artoo has adjusted pretty well, I think. He would not shut up for the first couple hours, but now he's back to being himself and licking his butt on my bed.
I'll get pictures sometime and upload them, but I really really really want to paint this place before I do, because it's so ugly.

I can't believe I'm actually here. I focused so much on just getting here/accepted to UT that I never even though about what it'd be like for it to actually happen! Everything feels perfect. I keep checking my UT admission status to double and triple check I'm actually admitted, I feel like it's just too good to be true!

Today we went to Ikea and bought all the furniture I need! I'm so spoiled. My favorite item of the day was this bright (picture doesn't show the color very well) orange sofa/love seat. I originally really wanted a futon or a sofa bed, but we couldn't find anything that would work. Either too big or too expensive, so I decided on this.

It was almost twice as much as the plain off white one of the same design, but this one has like a vinyl/leather-type fabric which won't be a cat hair magnet. AND IT'S ORANGE.
I pretty much got everything I wanted. I was worried my dad would pick everything out and it'd be super ugly and masculine, but he listened when I said I liked something. We're driving up tomorrow to move everything in. I'm so excited, I can't wait! I can't wait to paint the place, too. Now I'm thinking of doing the living room white instead of light grey, the kitchen and bathroom pink, and the bedroom still yellow or maybe a light blue. It's going to be so nice having my own place again. I spent over a year stuck in a poop colored guest bedroom!

I'm watching Bob Saget do stand up and it's so horrid. He just did a joke about eating a dinner with a bunch of garlic and shitting garlic diarrhea on a vampire.

I AM SO EXCITED TO MOVE.

I have worn UT stuff for a whole week straight. It's a good thing I look good in burnt orange ;-D

My dad and I went to Austin and came back with an apartment! It's awesome, only three blocks away from campus on the West side with a dishwasher and washer and dryer. Move in is Jan 4th!
( but whoever painted it must have been color blind or something )

So, at this point in time I have aquired over $200 worth of UT shirts and sweatshirts. I have enough to wear a new one every day for over a week, which is PRECISELY what I intend to do.

I'm just a little bit proud and excited about going to UT. Just a little.

I ended up getting a bunch of UT stuff, most of which I am currently wearing. My dad and stepmom also got some UT stuff from the neighbors, so we can all be matchy. I also got a cupcake bed set, and a whole case of Gutermann thread! It's funny because iletthedogsout was just talking about that brand. They're all so pretty, I'm scared to use them. I'm just going to display them on my sewing table and admire them.

My stepmom is impossible to get Christmas presents for. She has just about everything, and I never know what she wants. All I really know is that she loves the color pink, martinis, and Corvettes. Last Christmas I etched the Corvette logo in martini glasses, so I kind of used up all of my options for this year and just decided to go with a pink theme.

My aunt bought me some pretty pearl earrings for Christmas! I just got them in the mail, and I was thoroughly confused, because a)It was shipped UPS b) the return address was covered up, and c) when I opened it up there was a little jewlery box! She did not forewarn me about any of this! But I figured it out from the invoice, and I've already tried on all the different pairs (SIX all together!!). It's funny, because I just recently lost one of my pearl earrings that I wear ALL THA TIME and was thinking about how I wanted to get some more, but was too cheap. And BAM! Now I have six pairs. Merry Christmas INDEED!!

I also bought the remaining stuff for my stepmom's present. I'm making her a tote, a wallet or clutch or make up bag (haven't figured that one out yet) and one of those mini-wallet/credit card holder. I'm also making her recipe cards for all the different food from Cafe World on Facebook, since she's completely obsessed with that site. And for my dad... I'm just embroidering him a Mustang pillow to look like the one he's restoring, and making him a pouch with Corvettes on it to put his camera lens in. I also made him some chocolate covered pretzels with crushed up candy canes on top, but he already found those in the kitchen and started eating them. It's impossible to buy anything for him, because he has everything, and the only things that he does want are things that I definitely cannot afford. Plus, if he wants something, he just goes out and buys it, so I never even had a chance! I think he knows and understands that, though.

I honestly don't want anything for Christmas. Maybe some UT stuff or a gift card to Joanns or something, but I don't NEED that. I'm happy with everything I have and I couldn't imagine needing anything more. :-)

Being around sleepy kitties just end up making ME sleepy. I was all ready to go after taking a shower, and now I'm laying on the bed with Gracie next to me and now I don't want to get up. They must emit some kind of kitty sleep agent in the surroundings when they sleep.
